How To Take Backup Or Restore Backup of MS-SQL Database

Taking Backups & Restoring of SQL databases using Plesk

Applies to:

  • Plesk 9
  • Plesk 10
 

Backup/Restore using Plesk 9:

For taking backup:

  1. Login to your Control Panel
  2. Go to specific domain whose database backup is to be taken
  3. Under "files" section, click on "Backup Manager"
  4. Under "Tools", go to " Database Backup Repository"
  5. Click on Backup
  6. Select the database you want to backup
  7. After backup is taken, you can download it to your local machine.

For Restoration:

  1. Login to your Control Panel
  2. Go to specific domain whose database backup is to be taken
  3. Under "files" section, click on "Backup Manager"
  4. Under "Tools", go to " Database Backup Repository"
  5. Click on Upload Backup File
  6. Select the database you want to restore

 

Backup/Restore using Plesk 10:

For taking backup:

  1. login to your control Panel
  2. Go to the specific domain whose database backup is to be taken
  3. Goto tab "Websites and Subdomains"
  4. Inside it, Go to "Backup Manager"
  5. Click on "Database Backup Repository"
  6. Click on backup and select the desired database for backup
  7. Save the file on your local computer

For Restoration:

  1. Login to your control Panel
  2. Goto specific domain whose database backup is to be taken
  3. Goto tab "Websites and Subdomains"
  4. Click on "Backup Manager"
  5. Under "Tools", go to " Database Backup Repository"
  6. Click on "Upload Backup File"
  7. Select the database you want to restore.
